Oooh, portfolios. Investing in Foto might be interesting. Searchability is a necessity. I was thinking it might be nice to have a stream of those you follow presented in chronological order of posting and a discover stream of people whose photos are similarly tagged as yours are. Categories are OK to start, but there's a big difference between documentary and lyric documentary, for example. Thanks for the chat Michael!
Yeah the tags and other upcoming features will allow us to build a lot of cool search functionality and customization over time. Search is going to be key to unlock the true power of Foto and it’ll be something we are always working on.
Hello Michael, great news and great projects for the future. Investing and portfolios are on top of the list. About tags, a humble suggestion : as 99% of my work is on large format film, do you think a tag “large format photography”would be feasible? No big deal, but as I see an increase in people interested in large format and traditional techniques, it might be a worthwhile addition to the tag repository. Keep up the great work!
Hi Giovanni! I can see 'large format' being a tag option. Do you think we should wait for the equity crowdfunding campaign after we go public or should we do it sooner?
Thanks for your reply. I am glad to hear you are considering “ large format” as a possible tag option. About the crowdfunding campaign, I would wait until Foto goes public: that would give investors a more solid reason to get on board. I agree with what your saying about not rushing things and first aim towards a smoother experience with the app. Then again, if you think an external injection of funds would be absolutely indispensable and cannot be procrastinated in order to reach a proper development of the platform you could certainly consider any and all options to raise extra funds even before going public. Anyway, it appears the initial popular response to Foto is very positive and that’s the first sign you are on the right path. Keep up the good work!
Hi Carter! I think this will be something we look into when we release the Desktop version of Foto. It will require us to charge for storage though because the larger hi-res file sizes will cost a lot to store.

Thanks Giovanni! I appreciate you for sharing your thoughts.
Not sure if you have talked about this somewhere but we NEED full resolution images. Or 4k at the least.

Glad you’re looking into it. Pwould be a major mistake imo not having high res photos on mobile
