Private Beta Round 3

You can now join Foto!

Hello Everyone!

We are now accepting more people onto Foto and will keep the beta doors open for longer. You have until Wednesday, June 12th, to join the Private Beta version of Foto.

We are closing in on 5,000 beta users, and we can take about 5,000 more. After that, the beta will be full, and we won’t add anyone until we go public. If we don’t reach our maximum of 10,000 beta users by June 12th, then we may consider opening a fourth round of beta later to test newer updates and get fresh feedback in August or September.

Here’s how to join Beta and how the onboarding process works.

The easiest way to join the beta is to click on the donate button at fotoapp.co/beta. After donating, you’ll receive an automated email with further instructions.

It’s important to note that Android users will need to fill out a form asking for their Google Play Store email. We then have to manually add that to the private beta email list for the Android download link to work.

You can also donate via PayPal. The info for that is at the bottom of the beta link.

You can also support Foto further by becoming a Paid Substack member.

Onboarding for PayPal and Paid Substack isn’t as automated, but we will get you on Foto. If you have donated by either method and haven’t heard from us in 24 hours, please email help@fotoapp.co, and we’ll give you access to Foto.

As a reminder, Foto is a team of two people. Sahil and I are bootstrapping Foto, so all donations help us bring Foto to reality. We use the money to help cover our cloud computing costs and Sahil’s living expenses so he can work full-time on Foto. I don’t take any money from donations because I’m also running another company, which covers my salary.

Our goal is to launch publicly sometime in the Fall of 2024.

Before we go public, we need to add the following features:

• Editing Posts

• Editing Comments

• Tag Search Feature

• User Mentions

• Paid Portfolio Feature

Once we get those done, plus squash some bugs, we will be ready to launch publicly.
