The continued interest and community that is forming around Foto is very encouraging to me. When I start a project I often have some doubts that people will care or that only a few people share a similar perspective. I’m sure you’ve experienced doubts and fears when embarking on something new. I’d say those feelings are pretty normal and to be expected to some degree.
Scattered throughout my photographic journey, I’ve had a lot of failures, but I’ve also had some things work. One thing that has been unexpected to me through this past year with Foto is the generosity of so many people to donate to Foto directly to see the app come to life and people becoming paid subscribers to the Foto Substack.
I’m very grateful for your interest and support. Sahil and I are working hard on the Foto App, but I see a lot of value opportunities through Substack and the Foto Podcast that we can also bring to the photography community.
I’ve been reaching out to photographers this past week that I want to interview for the Foto Podcast, but I also want to create valuable newsletter content for you.
I want to know what type of content you want to see published on the Foto Substack.
Do you want me to feature photographers? What about photo industry news? What about exhibition opportunities or upcoming photo book releases?
Let me know in the comments below how Foto can help inspire, educate, and support your photographic journey.
Cheers,
Michael Howard
I am eagerly awaiting this new platform and community! I love all your ideas for the newsletter. One thought would be how great it would be to have some content for newbies or those who are less advanced. There is so much to learn from others, and from new platforms like this! I can't wait!
Now has never been a better time to build a new platform for photography free of “noise”. Looking very much forward to see Foto 🤍
