Hey Everyone!
We were hoping to launch Private Beta in August, but unfortunately, that will not happen. The good news is that we are past the updates that were slowing us down.
Private Beta is going to slip into September. I know that’s disappointing, but we don’t want to rush Foto out when it’s not ready. The worst thing we could do is launch it with a poor build and we’d either get ourselves in a bad spot financially or people wouldn’t enjoy it.
We have some little things we will improve with Foto, but these should only take us about a week. After we knock out this list of items, we will do Private Alpha again. The goal is that after this 2nd round of Private Alpha, we’ll only have 1-3 days worth of minor tweaks.
We’ve looked at our calendar, and the updated estimate for Private Beta is the 2nd or 3rd week of September. If we get through these updates smoothly, we’ll email the Private Beta launch date and details. We will ensure everyone who has donated receives multiple emails from us about the Private Beta launch.
Once we set a date for Private Beta, we will take your final donations to get on the Private Beta list. After officially launching Private Beta, we will not allow anyone else to join Foto until we are ready for Public Beta.
The cut-off for Private Beta will be the first 5,000 people to donate or when the launch date arrives.
If you are not on the Private Beta list, you can get on it two different ways.
One - Donate $5 at fotoapp.co/beta
Two - Become a paid subscriber of our Substack
Either way gets you on the list.
If you donated months ago and want to confirm you are on the list, email help@fotoapp.co
Thank you so much for your patience. We hate pushing the timeline back a few weeks, but we are a small team of 2 people. We aim to get it right the first time so we can quickly add new features this fall. If we can build a solid foundation, we’ll be able to scale quicker after we get Foto into your hands.
Cheers,
Michael Howard
